Sanford City Council Approves New Development

The Sanford City Council annexed 288.4 acres along Colon and Moncure roads.

Details of the development:
New development called “Midtown Village South.”
Proposed 905 residential lots (170 townhomes and 735 single-family homes)
The development will add $242 million to Sanford’s tax base when complete
The developer is also involved with Ashby Village and Cumnock Village projects

Other Business:

The council voted to rezone 30 acres one tract of land comprising 20.27 acres bisected by Tramway Road at 1100 Tramway Road. The rezoning will allow the development of a residential townhome community known as “West Main Townhomes Conditional Rezoning Plan.”
