10. What’s your plan to address the need for workforce and affordable housing?

My plan is to make Fayetteville a business sanctuary. This is done through the reduction of crime and building transparent and cohesive relationships with the business community. Businesses are reluctant to invest in areas where crime is increasing, and this results in fewer jobs for local residents, which in return is harmful to the housing market. In addition, I will work to ensure that businesses who come into Fayetteville, “Hire Fayetteville First.” Fayetteville has tremendous talent on hand

11. List three ideas that you would do if elected to attract high paying jobs and industries?

1) I will work to ensure that businesses who come into Fayetteville, “Hire Fayetteville First.” Fayetteville has tremendous talent on hand and that talent needs to always take priority.

2) Fayetteville is very fragmented, there is no real cohesion when it comes to the City and how it is Developed. We need to begin to develop areas of cohesion (hubs).

3)I would work to identify at least one economic driver that would help to identify Fayetteville as a hub for that industry (ie. finance, education)

12. What do you see as the biggest challenge in your district?

Currently, in Fayetteville our #1 challenge is crime. If we can reduce crime we will see an increase in business investment and development, homeownership, and resident retention. People and businesses want to feel safe in the environment where they live, work, and employ. I will work with our local, state, and federal law enforcement partners to establish crime reduction programs that will increase safety across the city, which will increase our appeal for both business and family investment.

13. Regarding tourism, what can be done to promote a vibrant city to outside guest and even within the community?

We must work with our community partners to address the rising issue of homelessness in our city. We must do more than provide day centers and feeding programs. We must begin to identify rehabilitation resources and services that will help our homeless reintegrate into the city population.

In addition, Fayetteville needs more amenities that will attract visitors as well encourage current residents to stay local and spend locally. We should not have to leave to have fun.

14. How do you propose to improve communications between your office and the community of REALTORS® who are becoming more engaged on issues in your district?

I believe open and direct dialogue is a must. Every represented industry in this city should have a seat at the table, and should always have direct access to lawmakers and representatives. As Mayor, I will make myself available to the community of REALTORS to address any questions or concerns that may have on behalf of themselves as well as their clients. REALTORS are a vital part of our community and help our residents and their families start their lives here, their concerns will be addressed

We (The Mayor and the council) need to work with community leaders and community members to address communities with single family dwellings that are affordable to our workforce. It takes all of us to get together and make a plan that will be viable and helpful.

Economic development is a major passion of mine.
I will work with FCEDC , Attract businesses by educating our citizens to land higher paying jobs, give industries incentives to be here and beautify our city and make Fayetteville attractive to these businesses.

Since I’m running for Mayor, the whole city is my district and public safety is a current problem and needs to be seriously addressed.

Public safety and city beautification is major. Advertising the history and diversity of our city to potential tourists is key.

I have an open door policy and invite everyone to come and engage me in conversation to let me know what is important to them and ideas and solutions that I can bring before the council.

Rezoning areas to develop, remodeling vacant and damage existing housing.

Council needs to adopt a affordable master plan.

Repairing the lakes , Dams, and roads. They way our city looks is a direct reflection of the leadership. Not just downtown but communities.

Providing resident the services their taxes pay for that they are not getting on a regular bases.
